My History.
The smell of a box of crayons is one of my favorites. I always wanted to color and draw when I was little. My first house plans were drawn up when I was in 4th grade. I am creative. Girl Scouts helped me become crafty and gave me basic survival skills. My Grandma taught me to knit. I was the best at making lanyard and bead key chains, I even sold them to friends at school! My very first job was cutting the grass at my P.E. teacher's rental property that was on the street that I lived on, and all I wanted to do was be good at what I set out to accomplish. He relied on me and I liked making money. This was when I was 12 years old. I am determined. I babysat practically full-time through out my teenage years but I never really wanted to work with kids after that. I got a real job at Subway when I was 16. I became a keyholder within the first 2 months of working there. I am trustworthy and reliable. Throughout my 20's, I waitressed and managed at a couple of different restaurants but ultimately, I wanted to get out of the restaurant industry. I moved out of my parents house when I was 22 and was now in an area 25 miles south of where I grew up. I applied everywhere except places within the food industry and ended up working retail at the mall. The store sold sporting apparel and took online sales through Amazon. I had no idea how often people bought new clothes! Growing up, I was not wealthy, hence the need to make money at 12.... We shopped at k-mart and the thrift store, before it was cool! Fashion didn't have much meaning but my experience in retail opened my eyes to a whole new world. This business also had a desire to create custom clothing for local schools, sports and businesses. That was my calling. I opened up the design program. Corel Draw, and started to teach myself how to work in graphic design. I was familiar with Microsoft programs but this was way different. I had full control over my canvas and could create my own intricate drawings. I became obsessed so I signed up for college and wanted to learn all of it! Initially, I thought I would go for Fine Art. Working with my hands to create stuff was where I started, after all.
